Playing sports tied to increased fruit, vegetable intake in children

Increasing sports engagement was associated with a greater likelihood of fruit and vegetable consumption in boys, a study indicated. Researchers found that while girls who played on two sports teams had a nearly threefold odds of increased fruit intake, those who played on three or more teams showed only twice the likelihood of higher intake. The results appear in theAmerican Journal of Health Promotion.
